വിശ്വമെമ്ബാടും മാത്രുഭാഷ ദിനമാച്ചരിക്കുന്ന ഈ സുദിനത്തില്‍ ഈ സുവേളയില്‍  നമുക്കും മടിക്കാതെ പങ്കുചേരാം ......

മാത്രുഭാഷ യുടെ മാഹാത്മ്യം വാഴ്ത്തി പാടിയ മഹാരഥന്മാരുടെ സന്മനസ്സിന്നു മുന്‍പില്‍ സഹര്‍ഷം സമര്‍പ്പിക്കുന്നു.
The fourth annual report of our school on this auspicious occasion on Sparsham - 4 Sparsham of life.
The Elegant Public School is going to become four years old. The developmental milestone of this baby - The Elegant Public School - is being observed and assessed periodically. Certainly this baby is attaining the skills at its right age, but certain skills need to be fine tuned.
Another academic year has almost reached at its eve. As we look back we have a lot accomplishments to appreciate and of course, in many areas we need to gear up to gain and maintain the momentum.
The teacher, student and parent , if these are fixed at the vertices of an equilateral triangle, the real growth and development of a child exists. The communication amongst teacher, school and parent is further improvised with an effective communication app which supports both android and apple devices, ParentEye has been effectively implemented.
Another biggest achievement in the academic year is the introduction of Football coaching through Elegant Football Academy (EFA).
At TEPS, we believe that the school is an important part of the community. The school thrives because of the community, and for the benefit of the community. Hence, we conduct events wherein children can learn through multiple interactions with the community and the community also benefits through the efforts and interaction with our children.
World Environment day was celebrated in our school on 5th June 2017 based on the theme "Connecting people to the nature". Students with their class teachers planted a tree near the school.
With a view to foster and reinforce the spirit of Communal Harmony, National Integration and pride in our vibrant, composite culture and neighbourhood, the Government of India observed the 'Qaumi Ekta Week"(National Integration week) all over the country from 19th November to 25th November 2017. The  students of our school got an opportunity to become a part of this celebration by organizing various activities in our school. Principal conducted a special session during this week on the themes secularism, anti-communalism and non-violence. Children were also given an opportunity to express their views on the present status of secular India in the form of an essay writing competition. Rastriya Ekta Divas - National Unity Day, a day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India - Sradar Vallabhai Patel was organized in our school on 31st October 2017. This occasion provided our children an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country. A "Run for Unity" was organized at Kotta Maidanam Palakkad. A message of national unity was permeated through this activity. Principal administered a special pledge on National Integrity.
Another major flagship programme of the government for fostering national integration was "Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat".
Kindergarten wonderland presented a Diversity mela on 02.02.2018 by presenting themselves as people from different states of India.
To celebrate the spirit of tourism and to motivate people to participate in activities showcasing the tourism potential of "incredible India", Government of India launched the campaign "Paryatan Parv" from 5th to 25th October 2017. As directed by Ministry of Human Resources Development of India, each state in India was asked to establish a State to State Connect. As per circular, State of Kerala was required to make a State to State connect with Himachal Pradesh. The fourth Annual Exhibition - Spandanm - 4, was exhibited with this concept- Spandanam-4 spandanam of Devabhoomi. The performance of our children was able to connect the beauty of the most beautiful states of India.

The celebration, customs of any institution reveal a great deal about its culture. How people link their past, with their present, what behaviors are reinforced, what assumptions are at work and what is valued?
Celebration at TEPS have become an integral part of joyful learning, community building and thought provoking processes.
International day against drug abuse was observed in our school on 01.07.2017 by conducting a special assembly by grade 6.
Grade 7 organized a special assembly on World Diabetes day on 15.07.2017.
Grade 8 presented a special  assembly on Friendship day on 19.08.2017.
Grade 9 showed their empathy towards people suffering from Alzheimer's by presenting a special assembly on 16.09.2017.
Grade 10 showed their duties and responsibilities towards maintaining beautiful environment by organizing an assembly on World Ozone day on 18.11.2017.
Students of Primary classes presented their special assemblies on the theme - personal traits like - bravery, confidence, compassion, responsibility, ambition, leadership etc.
Kindergarten tiny tots' presentation on different topics like community helpers, body parts, colours, seasons, flora and fauna  was well appreciated.
"Young people need something to hang on to - a culture connection, a sense of their own past, a hope for their own future. Most of all, they need what grandparents can give them."  Grand parents' day was celebrated in our school on 06.11.2017.
Children's day was celebrated on 14th November 2017 by organizing  special activities by students for teachers. At the end teachers entertained students by participating in various performing arts.
71st Anniversary of our Independence was celebrated by conducting a week long celebrations at our school. Some of the activities conducted during this week are :
Cleanliness Drive under Swachch Bharath Programme
Sports Competition including indigenous sports
Learning and singing patriotic song etc.
Principal hoisted  the National Flag on this occasion.
69th Republic Day of our country was celebrated on 26th January 2018.
Medical Check-up at our school was organized by doctors from Karuna Medical College on 27.10.2017  and a comprehensive medical report was sent to parents.
Measles Rubella Vaccination was conducted in our school in two stages on 09.10.2017 and 15.11.2017.
Sports competitions inculcate the spirit of positive challenges and sportsmanship among the students and prepare them for the life ahead. Sports, Games and physical fitness occupy a place of importance in our curriculum. Our annual sports day - Gladden Gambol -4 was conducted on 20.01.2018. Mr.Manojkumar R Circle Inspector of Police graced the occasion as chief guest. Students actively participated in different events and won medals and certificates. A special event was organized for parents, especially for couples.
Students of Kindergarten, with their teachers and parents organized a pet show on 09.02.2018 which enabled them to have a compassion towards nature.
The old-school model of passively learning facts and reciting them out of context is no longer sufficient to prepare students to survive in today's world. Solving highly complex problems requires that students have both fundamental skills (reading, writing, and math) and 21st century skills (teamwork, problem solving, research gathering, time management, information synthesizing, utilizing high tech tools). With this combination of skills, students become directors and managers of their learning process, guided and mentored by a skilled teacher.
A project based on research on the topic Kind people in the history was given with the objective to improve the research skills along with inculcating kindness in them.
Bambinos of Kindergarten celebrated a veggie day on 06.02.2018. On the same day all children were dressed up vegetables presented a fancy dress parade on ramp. They prepared salads and juice by themselves.
Since reading forms the basis for all other areas of learning, it is necessary to ensure that children of the primary grades attain proficiency in reading. A four years old school is now equipped with a library of more than 7000 titles out of which 2500 books are reserved for primary classes. At TEPS, children from Grade 1 onwards utilize the library by reading at least one book per week.
Reading habit in students was nurtured by introducing SMART READER award every month at class level. The smart reader of the year was selected by the child's utilization of library by reading maximum number of books in a year.
The smart readers of the year are:
Nishant Kishore from Grade 3A, Zoya & Ayman from Grade 3 B, Nidha Fathima of Grade 4, Ardra Shobharaj of Grade 5, Surya Ajith Nair of Grade 6, Aysha Fathina of Grade 7, Niranjan & Shehansha of Grade 8 and Sana of grade 9.
Many students from our school subscribed Young World of The Hindu - English daily to improve reading habit.
Arjun of grade 2 found his place in the daily The Hindu by contributing a question in Curiopaedia.
Special orientation programme for parents of Kindergarten and Grades 1 & 2 was organized on the topic " Effective parenting".  Principal led the session by identifying the parents as "Authoritative, Permissive and Democratic Positive parents " by conducting an assessment for them.
Apart from periodical in-house training, teachers of our school were trained and oriented by experts from Ezy Vidya, Pearson, CBSE & NCERT.
Master Rajath of grade 9 participated in state level rolling ball meet at Thiruvananthapuram on 13.04.2017, and was awarded as second runner up.

Master Syed Zain of grade 4 participated in Taekwondo conducted by TAKE(Taekwondo Association of Kerala) on 1st and 2nd February 2018 and qualified for yellow and green belt respectively. Congratulations Syed!
Uthirashree of Grade 7 Hiren Vijay of Grade 3 - qualified for Yellow belt conducted by Japan Shotokan karate Association held on 26.08.2017.
Many students from our school participated in the 2nd FRSI Palakkad Meet organized by FRSI on 26th November 2017 and brought accolades.
District Library, Palakkad conducted interschool poem recitation competition in Malayalam on Ayyappa Paniker's poem. In that Aneena Sam of Grade 9 received third prize. Congratulations Aneena!
In Hindi Yuvajanotsav, organized by Hindi Sahitya Sangam, Sreenandan of Grade 3 secured 2nd position in Poem Recitation, in story writing Niranjan bagged second position and in patriotic song competition, our choir - Sreenandan, Nadha Kulsm, Zeba, Tejas Prasad and Sraddha Menon - were the second runner up.
Stundetns of our school got an opportunity to participate in World Handwriting Contest formerly known as Annual American Handwriting competition by Kate Gladstone Handwriting repair, USA.
They have also participated in National Level Essay Writing Competition conducted by PCRA.

Our students also attempted Sugama Hindi Pareeksha conducted by Dakshin Bharath Hindi Prachar Sabha, on 4th November 2017.
The introduction of Danotsav inspired students in many ways. A group of students from our school ,Gayatri of grade 2, Rajat, Pranav,Aneena, Razan, Danish and Suraj of grade 9 collected money from their piggie bank and bought a wheel chair for a student of Koduvayur Govt. School, Master Unnikrishnan,  who really deserve it, and donated it to him on 29.01.2018. Hats off to you my dear children. Let this be an inspiration to many others.
Science Olympiad Foundation conducted National Science Olympiad, National Cyber Olympiad, International Mathematics Olympiad, International English Olympiads. The top achievers of these Olympiads are:
In International English Olympiad (IEO), Diya Habin, Vajith and Dipti Vijay of Grade 1 were respectively the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal awardees.
Aditi Rahakrishnan of Grade2 achieved first rank at International Level there by receiving gift worth Rs.1000, International Gold Medal and certificate of outstanding performance. Sadhika of same level received Gold Medal, Jumana - SIlver and Srisriya - Bronze.
Grade 3 the achievers are Sree Nandan - Gold Medal; qualified for second level, Aysha Zeba and Tazmeen are the silver and bronze medal awardees.
Akansha Radhakrishnan of Grade 4 received School Gold medal, Nandan Neelamana, Neel and Samyukta stood First, second and third amongst 5th graders.
Surya of grade 6, Nandana of Grade 7 and Pranav of Grade 9 received School gold medal at their respective levels.

In National Science Olympiad :
Diya Habin of grade 1 received School Gold Medal while Vajith and Anaam received silver and bronze medal respectively.
Srisriya, Aditi and amana of grade 2 are school gold medal, silver and bronze medal awardees
From grade3 Tazmeen bagged gold medal and from grade 4 Akansha achieved Gold Medal.
From Grade 5 recipients of awards are Nandan Neelamana - Gold, Neel - Silver and Samyukta - Bronze.
Ynez of Grade 6 bagged gold while Adnan of same level received silver and Surya - bronze.
Nandana, Shehansha and Danish are toppers of grade 7, 8 and 9 respectively.

In International Mathematics Olympiad...
Vajith, Ananm and Izan are school gold medal, silver and bronze medal awardees from grade 1. Other achievers are from grade 2 Gold - Anirudh, Silver - Anushka, Bronze - Srisriya
The top achievers of grade 3 are Sreenandan - gold, Tazmeen - Silver and Rayyan - Bronze. Grade 4 top achiever is Akansha Radhakrishnan and from grade 6 the winners are Surya - Gold, Adnan - Silver, Naquib - Bronze

Students of Grades 4 to 10 participated in :Think & Learn Challenge" organized by Asianet on 22nd November 2017.
Students of our school participated in Hackathon Screening Test by LPSC Valiamala-ISRO on 5th December 2017.
Field trips help students interact with that they are learning. The experience goes beyond reading about a concept, students are able to see it, manipulate it or participate in it physically.
Students of grades 1 were taken to show how effective communication happens through post office on 17.10.2017. The principal was touched to receive a loving letter posted by them through post office scripted in loving fond expressing their gratitude.
Grade 2 students enjoyed a trip to fort of Tipu Sultan on 21.12.2017, the symbol of heritage of Palakkad.
Grade 3 & 4 were taken to Helen Keller Memorial Model school for blind at Karimpuzha on 1st February 2018 where children understood how these visually challenged children enjoy the beauty of nature. Children presented songs and other entertaining items for them. They have made friendship with those children by gifting them a friendship band.
On the other hand, students of grades 5 & 6 were taken to Pothundi dam on 1st Feb 2018.
7&th, 8th and 9th graders enjoyed a field visit to Kanjirapuzha Dam on 3 Feb 2018.
Students expressed their experience in the form of report at the end of field trip. Akansha Radhakrishnan's field trip report  was considered as the best field trip report of the year. Congratulations!
Many Inter house competitions were organized at different level in many areas to give opportunity for the students to showcase their talents.
Many students from our school participated in CBSE kalolsav for the first time in the history of school. Most of them scored A grade in many items. Students from our school participated in interschool science exhibition too. A football team with 40 days' practice showed the courage to compete with a team of almost 40 years' experience was well appreciated. First time in the history of school, our football team participated in Sahodaya football tournament. Our students showcased their talents in sports by participating Sahodaya Interschool athletic meet.
Dear parents.....please try to understand that our aim is to equip our children to be SELF AWARE.....In competitions one may win and many others loose...train them to face the failures too.....equip them to experience the failures......because the collection of mistakes and failures are experiences in life.
